Care Shaped by Experience. Guided by Purpose.

Hi! I'm Dr. Carrie T. Dennie, a Licensed Naturopathic Doctor and Acupuncturist—and the founder of Vibrant Wellness.

I was born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and for as long as I can remember, I knew I wanted to become a doctor. I've always felt called to care for people, but my own experiences with healthcare ultimately shaped the kind of doctor I wanted to become.

I Know What It's Like to Want Another Option.

There was a time when I felt hopeless, frustrated, and unheard when it came to my own health. I was told that the care I had been prescribed was essentially my only option, but I couldn't accept that there weren't other ways to support my health.

So I became my own advocate.

I started reading, researching, and looking for approaches that would help me better understand my body—not simply manage what I was experiencing.

That's when I discovered naturopathic medicine.

And I knew I had found my calling.

From Patient to Practitioner

I packed up my life and moved to the Chicagoland area to attend National University of Health Sciences, where my understanding of healthcare—and my own health—began to change.
‍
Through my naturopathic medical education, I learned to look at health through a much wider lens: considering how nutrition, lifestyle, environment, physiology, and other factors work together to influence how we feel and function.

In 2016, I earned my Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine after completing my clinical internship at the university's integrative medical clinic.

But somewhere along the way, I discovered another form of medicine that would become an important part of how I care for people: acupuncture.

After experiencing it for myself, I fell in love with the practice and ultimately completed both programs—graduating summa cum laude and valedictorian with my Master of Science in Acupuncture later that year.

Today, those two disciplines allow me to approach care from multiple perspectives while always keeping the whole person at the center.

The Kind of Care I Believe In

I believe healthcare should be a partnership.

You should have the space to tell your story, ask questions, understand what's happening in your body, and participate meaningfully in decisions about your health.

That's why I take the time to look beyond isolated symptoms and consider the many factors that may be influencing how you feel.

Sometimes that means asking questions you haven't been asked before. Sometimes it means connecting pieces of your health history that may have previously been considered separately. And sometimes it simply means making sure you finally have the time and space to feel heard.

My role isn't to dictate your health journey. It's to help you understand it.

Together, we can create a personalized approach that supports your current needs while giving you the knowledge and tools to make informed decisions, advocate for yourself, and take an active role in your long-term health.

Because being entrusted with your well-being is something I consider a profound privilege.
